Thanks to the new VholdR ContourHD, extreme sportspersons who want to record their life-threatening antics in a first-person stylee will soon be able to do so in glorious high definition.
The VholdR ContourHD is the first helmet cam able to record footage in 720p quality, according to its makers. It’ll only do so at 30fps however, and if you need a higher frame rate you can switch down to 858 x 480 at 60fps. The video gets stored on microSD (a 2GB card is provided) in H.264 format.
You’ll be able to mount the VholdR ContourHD on either a helmet or a flat surface, and its 135 degree lens can capture a wide arc in front of you – perfect for documenting that bone-breaking base jumping session.
